Quick answers for every ProQmed portal. Tap a topic, then a question.
ProQmed is one secure platform that connects surgeons, hospital management, implant companies, warehouses and patients across South Africa. Every surgical implant case gets one shared record, from booking through theatre to payment, instead of phone calls, WhatsApp threads and paperwork.
On the homepage, choose your role (Surgeon, Management, Implant Company, Warehouse, Patient, Anaesthetist or Theatre Assistant) and sign in. Each role has its own portal, so make sure you pick the one that matches your account.
Yes. Open proqmed.com in your phone’s browser and choose “Add to Home Screen” (Safari: tap the Share button; Chrome: tap the ⋮ menu). ProQmed then opens full screen like a normal app.
ProQmed is available at Tier-1 private and provincial hospitals across all 9 South African provinces, covering both government and private sector suppliers.
Open the menu and tap “Book a List”. Add the date, hospital and each patient case with the implants it needs. The relevant implant companies receive the cases straight away, and you can follow each one on your dashboard.
Tap “Patients” in the menu to see every patient case you have booked, with its current status and implant details.
Use “Search Implant” to browse implant companies by sector (government or private) and province, and see what they supply.
Tap “Identify an Implant”. It explains how to share an X-ray or photo with a group of implant specialists who can help identify it.
Tap “Anaesthetists” or “Theatre Assistants” in the menu to browse independent practitioners and contact them directly.
It lets you set up a professional profile so companies and firms can find you for work such as locums, medico-legal opinions, teaching, research or speaking, and shows you requests that match your profile.
Management accounts get an overview of cases, implant requests and quotes across their hospitals, along with reports and the supplier directory.
Suppliers are organised into Government and Private sector directories, broken down by province, so you can find the right supplier for your hospital’s procurement route.
When a surgeon books a case that needs your implants, it appears under “Cases” and on your “Calendar”. Confirm the case and track it through “Order Status” until it reaches theatre.
Use “Get Paid” to see where each completed case is in the payment process, and “Analytics” for an overview of your activity.
It handles receiving stock, storing and counting it, packing and dispatching implant sets, and tracing every item, so the right set leaves on time for the right case.
